It feels good, and truthfully, intimidating, to be here blogging my journey to becoming a more proficient programmer, but we gon’ be a’ight. My name is Don Odom. I’m a 26-year old audio engineer/producer who recently made the decision to expand my realm of skills into the world of tech by attending Flatiron School for software development.

My interest lies in working towards inclusion in tech for marginalized communities in a way that feels authentic to us. I do not come from a traditional educational background nor do I have a degree from any institution, which is one of the factors that causes exclusion in skilled labor careers. But like many of my peers, work ethic, grace & hustle are what make me accomplished. I aim to spend a substantial amount of time expanding my skills outside of course curriculum as I aspire to begin a fulfilling career. Learn along with me; if anything, I wish to make the tools I acquire more accessible to others.
